16 Months Old

Can you believe it! My sweet little angels are 16 months old! We are having so much fun at the Rogers house this summer. The days are flying by as we try to find ways to escape the heat.

What are we doing at 16 months??
Teeth: O and B are both holding strong with the front eight teeth. We were sick last week with ear infections and incoming molars (bottom). I have felt so bad for those bottom little molars, that I missed Brody's top molar on the right popping through! I was tickling him the other night and saw the outside point poking out.
Food: Right now our absolute favorite has to be watermelon. We can eat an entire melon in a few days. A typical day's menu (we don't vary too far) Breakfast is usually pancakes, bananas, yogurt, cheerios, cereal bars, or french toast. Lunch/Dinner: chicken nuggets (Chik-fil-a only! What do they put in those things?) watermelon, apples, grapes, cheese balls, applesauce, pizza, pasta w/ Italian dressing, french fries, pears, any flavored rice with chopped veggies. We don't have a huge variety, but these are a few of our favorite things.
Walking: We are all walking and Brody is starting to run. He is so fast. I hear him in one room and all the sudden he is wrapped around my legs. Owen still teeters a little. He is much more cautious than brother. Last week's terrible ear infections threw him off balance for a week. We go to the park every morning for Stroller Stride and the boys are just dying to get out of the stroller by the end of class. Owen usually cruises near us while we're doing abs and stretching. He checks out what the other moms have under their strollers, toys, food, cell phones, car keys, whatever. It's fair game as far as he's concerned. Brody, on the other hand, GONE! He's meeting all the other kids on the playground and chasing balls with all the doggies!
Swimming: We love the water. We do not like our flotation suits. We have an opinion about everything that has to do with the pool and it changes minute to minute.

The boys are definitely enjoying each other. They love to wrestle (Owen more so than Brody), they laugh at each other, fight with each other, and still ignore one another completely. Our poor dog is their new favorite toy. She is a trooper and just gets up and leaves when she has had enough. All the crumbs make her forget how much they torture her.

how lucky am i?

This was a new game our dog created when she ran by Owen with a towel in her mouth. Dad took it to a whole nother level. Brody loved it. Owen and I were not a fan. The brick is rough on the tushie. (Yes, Owen is standing in a pile of dry cleaning. I throw it over the balcony in the morning to remind myself. What can I say, I have two 16 month olds!)

We love to get in the kitchen chairs. I have no idea why it's so exciting, but they're happy. I went to the kitchen to put something away and this is where I found Owen. He is determined to get his rear on every table we own. Help me!

Sunday, we had our first suckers! Did I mention they will be our last too! STICKY DROOL, GROSS! The dog loved it.
