8 Months Old

Miss Henley is eight months old. She is growing so fast and changing everyday! We love to watch her discover all the new things around her. She is VERY busy, to say the least! Here's one of her favorite tricks. Notice how her tounge is rolled 90 degrees. She twists it up to entertain herself, to help her concentrate, or just to make Mommy laugh Henley has worked her way through all her fruits and veggies. Oatmeal is the way Henley starts and finishes her day. She loves the vegetables to most. If I had to rank her favs: 1. sweet potatoes 2. peas 3. bananas 4. squash 5. green beans 6. prunes 7. pears 8. apples She still nurses 3 to 4 times a day Sweet girl is a good sleeper. She is very ready for her oatmeal and nursing as soon as we get the boys to bed. By 8:15 she is quite grumpy! Her naps are improving. As soon as she gets her breakfast, she is ready for a nap, and I'm usually guaranteed one decent one in the afternoon. She is a good sport if I wake her up while running errands, but by the second interrupted nap, don't mess with her!
Henley loves bath time! We often opt for the kitchen sink because it is fast and easy. She likes the faucet/shower option.

Daddy and Owen enjoy making her giggle.

Henley and Owen are very silly together. He will sit and play with her and squish on her chubby cheeks and she just giggles. Brody is her quiet-caretaker. He is not interested in entertaining her, but he does like to soothe her when she is upset. He is always there with a toy or binkie (granted, she doesn't take a binkie) and hoping it will quiet her tears.

Weekend Re-cap

We were in town this weekend with lots on the calendar. Friday night we attended to JL Buckshot Bash with friends and had a great time. We kept it low key and headed home early because we had an early morning Saturday.

Ready for our first 5K with mom! I packed this stroller with everything and anything we might need. We even got there early (Dad went ahead bc he was doing the 1/2 marathon). Heading to the starting line....

FLAT TIRE!!!! Are you kidding me?!?!?

So we played and sat with friends and snacked while we waited for Daddy to finish.

Here he comes! He did great! He finished his 1/2 marathon at 1hour and 32 minutes. A personal best. He finished 7th overall and 2nd in his age group. So proud of him!

Then we went home and Dad showed the boys how to hit the ball.

Loving my shades!

Sunday we headed to the park!

Owen workin his way through the web.

Dad and the boys playin

B-boy insisted on climbing with his toys in his hands. I think he did it to prove me wrong bc he made it to the top.

Pooped!

Big Girl Bath

Tonight was Henley's first big girl bath, and...

She loved it!!!!!!!

Owen made sure she was entertained. These two are so funny together. Henley loves any attention and Owen loves an audience. Especially one that thinks he's super funny!

I finally got a picture of Owen rolling his tongue. This is my evidence he IS my child!

Loved her bath tonight! Such a big girl!

What's New?

Well, what's happening at the Rogers' house? Lots and nothing exciting all at the same time. It's Spring Break and as Todd stated today, "all spring break means to us, at this age, is no Mother's Day Out". While we're not sunning ourselves on a beach or racing down the ski slopes, we are busy!

Look at our new ride! Pretty sweet wheels, huh? We went on a LONG family walk to Greathouse Sunday to play on the playground. Out return trip was a little rough with 2 flat tires!

This is our new friend we met on our walk. He and his Momma love attention and back scratches.

Look at Grammie's new neighbors. Owen loved them!

We have hit the grocery store and cooked yummy dinners!

Napped on the patio while enjoying our beautiful weather. But our big spring break project...Potty Training!!!!!!!!!!
There are no pictures suitable for blog world...stay tuned!

Henley's first word

Guess who said her first word today????

What did she say???
"Mama!"
Of course she did! She hears her brothers say it 1,000 times a day!
----------
Momma was SO proud a boastful when Daddy got home! I raved and bragged at how much she loved her "Momma". Todd thought that was great and he was very proud of her. He leaned over and said "Dada". Of course, little-miss-daddy's-girl says "Dada". She will do anything for her Dada! I love that "Momma" was first, but I know my place! Sweet girl! Love her so much!

The Guy's Birthday Dinner

We had such a busy week with all the birthday festivities, so Pa Doss took us to dinner tonight to celebrate Todd's birthday and continue the boys' party
Brody was kinda slow getting started at dinner. A trip to see the fish tank help wake him up.

Henley was all smiles so long as I kept her supply of spoons coming.

Owen finished off his dinner with a big serving of ice cream

Brody had to make sure he wasn't missing out on anything.

This is mostly what they did while we ate and visited

attempt at a family picture...

A little better?
We were so pooped from our partying, we were ALL in bed and asleep by 9:00!

3rd Birthday Party

Owen and Brody celebrated their 3rd Birthday with some buddies at Flippen Bounce this Saturday.
Brody loves to jump on the trampoline

As does wild-man Owen

We had a joint birthday party with our twin-friends, Anna and...

Brown! Today was their actual birthday! Happy Birthday buddies!

A little brotherly wrestling match. At least it was in a padded area!

Sheriff Woody Badges (yummy cookies), treat bags for our guest because "You gotta friend in me" and yummy cupcakes

Mr. Potato Head Chips and Woody's Watermelon Salad

Dr. Evil Porkchop Pigs-in-a-Blanket and Bullseye Bites (chicken nuggets)
Penelope was the creative mind behind all this yummy food and the amazing treat bags.

All four birthday kiddos!

"Owen, wait! Please don't leave before the cake!"

We were one man down. Brody had to take on the responsibility of blowing out his and his brother's candles (We sang "Happy Birthday Everyone" instead of singing it four separate times)

Anna and Brown getting help from Mom

Lovin' that icing!

"Why am I not the center of attention?"

"Good Bye". Brody ate and ate and ate after all that jumping, and after all that eating...he was done! He managed to get a few more bounces in, but once his guests started leaving he was ready to crash. He hitched a ride with Pa Doss. He was pooped!
-------
Great party! Thanks to everyone who brought donations for Rays of Hope. I'm so excited to take them tomorrow!
