True Love

To reward the boys for their good behavior (and because Dad knew they would ABSOLUTELY love them) the boys received a big surprise.
Buzz Lightyear and Woody

Notice the full dinner plates. The world stopped turning when these guys came out to play. Look at the concentration.

this might be Brody's first love. I have a picture of Brody and Me the first time I was allowed to hold him and Todd said it was true love at first sight. I think I have been replace :(

Owen went for Woody first. I think it's the hat. He loves to put hats on and yell "Yee-Ha".
-----
We had to set up rules for these toys. Yes, it's that serious. Buzz and Woody are not allowed upstairs. (We learned that the first night when we listened to Buzz talk on the baby monitor for HOURS.) Buzz and Woody are not allowed in the car. In fact, a lot of nights after the boys go to bed I hide Buzz and Woody. This ensures we have less drama in the morning when we have to go somewhere and there are no tearful goodbyes.
-----
Clearly, Toy Story is our new obsession. The boys have liked other movies and characters, but this is big. Our favorite part is Owen and Brody acting out the scenes. So cute. I will have to load some video.

Fun in Austin

We headed to Austin for a fun-filled weekend. After the beautiful drive through the hill country we went to dinner with Doss and Laura at Verde's (one of my Austin favs) and called it a night early. The next morning, the boys and I headed to cousin Jacob's flag football game.
Beautiful Bluebonnets surrounded the football fields. Gotta love Austin!

Brody wasn't sure at first, but he came around

Nana and Papa D

I tried to sneak into a picture

my nephews letting Papa D open his birthday present

Oh My Goodness! Look what Brody found! Love at first sight!

Yee-Haw!

Our main reason for the trip...Frank's wedding. It was a beautiful wedding with a great view and amazing food! This preggo loved the Amy's Ice Cream Bar.

I think Todd and Chris were annoyed with my photo taking. Hmm...

Twenty Group in Allen

Todd's business trip to Allen turned out to be a great get-away for Me!
We drove to Allen on Wednesday and checked in to our hotel. Nana and Papa D were not far behind. We visited for a while in the courtyard so the boys could run wild, and then...Grandparent swoop! My parents so wonderfully volunteered to host the boys for the week. It was wonderful!
Todd had meetings all day Thursday, so Nana brought the boys over and we got to spend the day together. There is this great little play-town in the Allen shopping area and the boys loved it! Here Owen is guarding the safe.

Brody was giving the drive-thru window some very personal attention. Thank goodness they don't do that at my bank!
As a bonus...we got Freebirds for lunch! What more could I ask for? Shopping, Freebirds, and an afternoon with my mom.

Nana and Papa D have been letting the boys explore their talents

Brody really getting after it!

Owen loves it!
They are so funny to watch. I have no idea how they knew exactly what to do. Looked like pros!

Before we left town, we hit the Dallas World Aquarium with my parents

Even Brody and Owen were not impressed with the one lonely penguin. They did do their Happy Feet dance

The turtle and stingray exhibit was a big hit. The guys go turtle hunting in the courtyard at school, so they were excited to see a familiar friend

Owen hitchin' a ride with Papa D

the guys

Brody and Dad

Oh! What a beautiful BUZZARD! Yuck! This was the first thing we saw and we were in love!
Poor Brody fell asleep in line to get into the aquarium and I woke him up after we were already inside. I hate that I didn't capture his face when he woke up in a rain forest! Priceless!

Farewell Sweet Dixie

We will miss you sweet little Dixie dog
Todd got Dixie for a Christmas present his freshman year in high school (1994). She was a sweet, smart, quirky little dog. She loved Todd first and foremost, but had become quite the protector of Grammie ever since Todd left for college. She played dead when you shot her, would do anything for a piece of cheese and was famous for attacking the oven EVERY time you opened the oven door. She was so sweet and the boys had really taken a liking to her lately (since they finally figured out she was a dog). Owen especially loved to chase "Dis-See" around Grammie's kitchen. She might have been tiny but she was the Queen!

Best Ten Bucks Ever!

I ran by Toys R Us to grab diapers and couldn't resist a new bubble machine. I almost passed out the other day blowin bubble for my two bubble headed boys.
We purchased our share of bubble makers and this one is by far the best!
Check out all those bubbles!

Owen was ecstatic! This was a huge swing from the torture they had just endured during their haircuts.

Hmmm...what happens if I put my finger in here?

Hmmm....what happens if we both do?

Oh joy!

They are even better up here all to myself

This is from a few weeks ago. Take notice of the TINY red couch sitting in front of Owen

Brody was being quiet one night and I went looking for him. He was perched ever so carefully on that tiny little sofa. SO funny. What goes through those little minds.

Holly hides on the love seat and tries to blend into the couch with pillow camouflage. Doesn't seem to work. They still find her and torture her.

Owen with his new friends, Woody, Buzz (thanks Pa Doss) and Mr. Potato Head (thanks Braden and Baryn) They loved that I moved their table into the family room. It has become their new dining room. Such big boys!

Easter is here!

Happy Easter 2010
Our Easter Baskets were filled with goodies. Dump trucks for our sandbox, pajamas, and DVD's

The Easter bunny filled our eggs with HotWheels. Big hit!

Owen came running when he heard the Easter bunny had left goodies.

Owen went straight for the eggs (this was his third time and he was learning)

New movie!

Unfortunately Brody chose to sit in the other room and pout because he wanted to watch TV and not participate with Owen. He did come around, but I wanted him to know this is where he chose to be and I was not leaving him out of the photos.

Pa Doss delivered some goodies that were left at his house

Family photo before brunch

Brody playing shy, he looks so sweet

We made it to brunch. On time. Happy!
Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. All the excitement earned us a long nap from our two favorite little bunnies!
-------
Daddy even got an Easter present this year. We were enjoying our coffee this morning before the boys got up and he got to feel our little girl move for the first time! She quite the mover and shaker.

Dinner at Grammies

Tonight after the hunt and amazing nap, Grammie had us over to dinner to celebrate with Aunt JJ. We had peppered shrimp, Grammie's best recipe and enjoyed a great evening. Thanks Grammie!
Look at these goodies!

Grammie and B-boy enjoying his favorite. Grammie filled his eggs with graham cracker goldfish. He was hooked. Owen didn't even know anything about these new fish, as Brody took all his brother's before he discovered them.

Guess who is behind Owen??? Hmmm?

Aunt JJ was thrilled with her Barbie and jelly beans. She made a quick exit to enjoy her candy without her nephews asking her to share.

Dad, Grammie and Owen

Dad and his boys after dinner in the yard

Owen did not ask to be involved in this nonsense

Brody steered clear of all the commotion. He needed to kick back and relax after all the Easter festivities. The guy needs to learn to relax.

Sweet Owen bringing his Momma flowers. What an angel!

Brody discovered Grammie fabulous tree. It was like climbing through a forest.

Owen discovered Godzilla. What Easter is complete without a scary monster? This is his new friend. We were all in the family room visiting and Owen was no where to be found. He took this creepy guy and went to the living room to enjoy some quiet time with his friend. whatever?
