13 Months Old

I cannot believe we are already a month closer to 2! That sounds silly, but I'm realizing 2 is going to be here before I've finished celebrating their first birthday. Todd called me yesterday and pointed out the boys (not babies) were 13 months old. I don't know where March went! Here's a few pics of my sweet guys.

Sweet Brody

Owen is concentrating on that block

Brody loves to see how brave he is by going from item to item with NO HANDS!

Owen is happy to just cruise with one hand out

Look at our new stools we just got for our birthday! Thanks Shan and Telene! We love them!

Owen was very puzzled as to how Daddy got those pieces out...

You can't tell very well from this angle, but Brody is so sweetly perched on his new stool

We have also fallen in love with Holly. We watched her eat and it was HILARIOUS!!! I went in there and they each had a piece of food in their hand and were oh-so-sweetly feeding Holly. Thank goodness it was more interesting to feed her than to try and eat it ourselves!

Silly Names

Sorry Nana, no pics, just a funny little thing I found on my friend Lindsey's blog. I have been covered up this week trying to get ready for our Junior League event next week. The boys have been troopers and have played nicely with one another and found ALL sorts of stuff to get into. Oh, little fun fact...Brody is taking two and three steps at a time! This weekend, Todd and I sat with our feet out and let Brody "walk" between us. Nothing big, he more or less steps and steps just praying he will get close enough and he just falls. So cute and exciting. I have mixed feeling about the boys walking. Part of me can't imagine the chaos that will ensue, but on the other hand it will be nice to not juggle the two of them. I look forward to being able to unload one of them from the car and they stand while I unload another. Currently, I unload one and stick him in the floorboard while I unbuckle the other, or I do one, carry him in and go back for the other. Hmmmmm........

Friday Funday

We had a great day with Dad. This was the first weekend in a long time that Todd has had the weekend off, we had nothing to do, were in town, and no one had a major illness! Of course, it was RAINING! I talked to Mauri and explained the turn of our beautiful weather on Todd and she immediately requested his return to work. We improvised...and tried Chick-fil-A for some place inside to play...not so great. The ice cream was a hit (first time to try it) but the play area had too many big kids. The boys just loved watching all the action but mom and dad were a little nervous our sweet boys might be trampled. We left and drove around and checked out some new construction and came home for a nap before we went to MCC for dinner. We haven't been our for a family dinner in a LONG time. Of course, the boys were great and dinner was wonderful, plus I didn't have to wash dishes.

We had supper club at our house last night and had a great time. I served pizza, home-made Sangria, and Cheesecake Factory cheesecake. Easy and yummy! We missed Laura and Holt, but managed to have a great evening! Here's some pics of my little men from the last couple of days.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Thanks for our birthday outfits...Ross, Chelsea, and Cambree

Don't we look cute? Mickey Mouse Clubhouse was on...that's why they wouldn't look at me! It time for the Hot Dog Dance!

Two of Owen's favs...the double bike and shutters!

Brody has fallen head-over-heels in love with Holly (our dog) this week. Here he's plotting his attack on her! Thanks for our new Polos, Lillian and Jackson!

Sweet Owen. Notice the bruise on his forehead (upper right corner), Brody was playing with a cabinet in the kitchen and right as Owen rounded the corner, WHAM! I was surprised the bruise was so small. Luckily it shocked Owen so much and he was so stunned he didn't really cry.

Happy St. Patrick's Day...a little late

Hope everyone had a great St. Patrick's Day.
My days of festive headgear are nearing an end

Owen managed to keep is hat on for a moment

Sweet Brody Boy

One year ago

My little Owen Man

One year ago he thought he was an only child (at least for a week)
We had a much happier St. Patty's Day this year. We were enduring the hardest week of the boys' short lives last year. Owen was home and we were thrill beyond belief, but sweet Brody was still being held hostage in Odessa. It was a tough week, but look at us now. I couldn't be happier with my three wonderful guys!

One Year Pictures

If you want to check out the boys twelve month pictures, click on Erin Black's web page. Go to the Galleries tab and click on Owen and Brody to view them. She is so amazing and wonderful. Brody especially was very upset the day we did the pics, of course, he had only been out of the hospital for a couple of days. I am always amazed at what she captures on her camera. I started with maternity pics and she has done the boys for me every three months. She is expecting a sweet baby sister for her little boy this summer and I wish her the best. Erin is so talented and very fun to work with. All the pics on my sidebar are her work. Thanks Erin!

Still on lock-down

Well, we're still on lock down at the Rogers house. Everything is going well. Owen had a rough day. He woke up kinda whiny and just couldn't shake it all day. Bless his heart, we couldn't ever determine exactly what was wrong. No temp, spots have faded, just a rough day! I thought I would recap their day with pics.

Thanks for our new warm-ups Bear and Blaire!

We started off this morning with a face plant out of the ball pit. Notice the fat upper lip.

Brody has a new obsession with balls. He couldn't even put them down to snack on some goldfish.

Smiling and happy holding on tight to those balls. We have mastered this as our new word this week.

Our sweet little pock boy!

We eat with the balls. We even nap and bathe with them!

This is my three ring circus!

Owen's love affair with his spoons lives on...very intense!

Is there ANOTHER blond guy in this house????

We can even crawl while holding two balls. Should we contact Letterman about his "Stupid Human Tricks"?

Dad would be so proud! His two boys tossing the football.

Holly got a new bed today...

Owen loves it!!!!!!!! I have to replace Holly's bed because it gets so gross and the boys love it. I have to hide it in the laundry room, often.

Owen discovered he can walk underneath the kitchen table.

Holly is so excited...little does she know, Brody can't unlock the door...YET!!!!

Bottle and balls...does life get any better?

March of the Rogers

Rounding the corner, heading to bed

Brody still has one ball, but has replaced the other ball with a bottle of juice...still crawling!

Owen gets distracted by each foot light going up the stairs.
This is how we spent our afternoon. Oh, by the way, all this fun was had in a three hour time span. I usually keep them in the family room and lately we have been exploring because I finally got the stair gates installed. It has opened up a whole new arena of fun! No wonder I'm worn out once they go to bed. They are so much fun and doing new things each day.

What's That Spot?

So, we went to the doctor today because when I called about his high temp yesterday, they thought I should probably bring Owen in to be on the safe side since Brody was so sick just two weeks ago.
Yesterday when Owen woke up with 102.5 temp, I gave him a tepid bath and noticed a blister on his back. Strange? But it was early and I was more worried about bringing down his fever. At our appointment this morning, Dr. Nabulsi laughed when he saw me. I only went to the doctor for well checks for 12 months...then we've hit a stride here lately. So we discuss the temp, cough, lack of eating, and for curiosity purposes...I mentioned the blister. When we start looking there's more little bumps (we dressed in the dark as not to wake brother)...that's right...we have CHICKEN POX!
Here's the man with the spots! Bless his heart, never would I have guessed. He really hasn't bed acting like he feels bad. Oh yeah, he has double ear infections. You know it's bad when the pediatrician mentions I might want to move in the office or closer to his home. The whole staff chuckled a little too at the irony of Owen catching the Chicken Pox from the Chicken Pox vaccine and having RSV after taking the vaccine. Hum........

Look what Brody found yesterday! Gross! Notice Owen not far behind.

Oh Yeah, really get in there good!

I wanted to end on a cute note after the potty pictures!

Surprise Getaway!

I surprised Todd with a weekend getaway for his birthday. We had so much fun. We flew to Dallas on Thursday and checked into Hotel Zaza, our favorite! The hotel sent up champagne and chocolate covered strawberries for the birthday boy. We had a low key-no-children evening. Friday, I slept in (LATE) and Todd went to run. We enjoyed a great lunch on the patio. We couldn't have asked for better weather in March. Then we headed back to the spa for a couples massage. FABULOUS!

Friday night I did a little surprise party for Todd at Mattitos

Thanks so much for all you help with the party, Chris and Myndi

Bear and Blaire came to party

April and Brim helped us celebrate too. In fact, they were the ones that closed down the evening with us!

Happy Birthday Honey! So glad I'm not the older lady anymore. Vicky, Kurt and Matt joined us for dinner too!

The boys at the Iron Cactus

Saturday, we went to TopGolf. So much fun!

Todd and Chris think they are so funny...

Myndi and I showed our support with food and beer and of course, commentary

I even took a few shots. Who can resist such a cute coach?

The fun continued at the Mavs game Saturday night.

This was after the game in the hotel hallway...think what you will...

we missed our sweet boys. Apparently, Owen missed us so much he gave himself a fever! Thanks for the wakeup call with 102.5 temp. Welcome home!

Brody missed us so much he hung out from 11:30 till 2:00 this morning in our bed, wide awake. Thanks son!
We had such a great time! Thanks to everyone who helped make this a great surprise weekend. We needed a rest!
