Enough...

I have a few friends going through tough struggles at this time and another friend sent me the following story in an email today and I wanted to share it. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

ENOUGH:
Recently, I overheard a mother and daughter in their last moments together at the airport. They had announced the departure. Standing near the security gate, they hugged, and the mother said, 'I love you, and I pray you enough.' The daughter replied, 'Mom, our life together has been more than enough. Your love is all I ever needed. I pray you enough, too, Mom.' They kissed, and the daughter left.
The mother walked over to the window where I was seated. Standing there, I could see she wanted and needed to cry. I tried not to intrude on her privacy, but she welcomed me in by asking, 'Did you ever say good-bye to someone knowing it would be forever?' Yes, I have,' I replied. 'Forgive me for asking, but why is this a forever good-bye?' 'Well...I'm not as young as I once was, she lives so far away & has her own busy life. I have some challenges ahead, and the reality is - her next trip back will be for my funeral,' she said.
'When you were saying good-bye, I heard you say, 'I pray you enough.' May I ask what that means?' She began to smile. 'That's a prayer that has been handed down from other generations. My parents used to say it to everyone.' She paused a moment and looked up as if trying to remember it in detail, and she smiled even more. 'When we said, 'I pray you enough,' we wanted the other person to have a life filled with just enough good things to sustain them.'
Then, turning toward me, she shared the following as if she were reciting it from memory.

I pray you enough sun to keep your attitude bright no matter how gray the day may appear.
I pray you enough rain to appreciate the sun even more.
I pray you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive and everlasting.
I pray you enough pain so that even the smallest of joys in life may appear bigger.
I pray you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I pray you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I pray you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye.
Then, she began to cry, and walked away..

They say, it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but an entire life to forget them.

TAKE TIME TO LIVE..... To all my friends and loved ones, I PRAY YOU ENOUGH.......

Haircut, Pizza, New Shoes...OH MY!

It's been a busy week and it's only Tuesday!
Monday- we got new shoes (just like Dad's) and ate pizza (why has Mom been holding out on us?!?!) Notice our beautiful WILD hair. Mom thinks we look like homeless guys!

Owen before
Owen after

Brody before

Bordy after
I didn't take much (some might say none) off. Just enough to get it out of their faces and to remove the wings.

Owen was very please with Gabi's scissor skills

He didn't mind his haircut one bit

just precious

Brody, on the other hand, not so impressed with Gabi or the silly haircut. Kinda breaks your heart a little

Notice Mom's death grip. Eventually, I had to hold his head still when I put him back in the chair for more cutting.

The best thing, as far as Brody is concerned, to come out of this first haircut...wafer cookies. He eats them with his finger on the end and pushes them in like some sorta cartoon character. GONE!

We have been enjoying our birthday present from Nana and Papa D with this wonderful weather!

Tonight, I met up with the girls after our Junior League Meeting.
Me, Mauri, Darby, Michelle, Laura, Jennifer

A Great Saturday

Todd got home a day early and we were thrilled. We enjoyed the wonderful play set the Browns passes down to us yesterday after noon, and then headed over to their house for a great supper club. The crawfish were FABULOUS! Thanks Chad, Darby and Mauri!

Rainy Day Blues

It was a good day at our house, but the rain brought the blues...
We miss Daddy!

This is what I see when I walk into the boys room whenever they're waking up. Sometimes there's a smile...sometimes tears

This is how I find Owen. Usually there's an arm hanging out as he drapes himself on his bumper waiting for assistance

Brody was READY to get out!

After we ate dinner, we search the ottoman for treasures

While the boys were napping, a little spring shower dumped some more hail on us

The pool was white-capping (the picture didn't do it justice)

Look at all that hail and the blue sky (gotta love west Texas weather!)

We got enough for it to start piling up

Look at the tee box right behind our fence- covered in ice
This makes me an official West Texas girl. I have officially become a weather tracker. I never understood why Todd and his family always talked about the weather. Well, I get it now. You never know what the next hour holds. The rain was nice and much needed.
Not an exciting blog, but hopefully enough to satisfy Jennifer!

Breathing Treatment

Let me start this with saying, I am not complaining about Brody's new treatment, I'm just telling it like it is because I thought it was funny.

So, Brody and I got to see Dr. Nabulsi this morning and luck out and get to see Jennifer instead. Brody has been under the weather this weekend, but not too bad. I chalked the temp up to teething and the diaper rash solidified that diagnosis. The throwing up...totally Owen's fault. Owen had Brody howling last night at dinner and he barfed. I thought he just choked and we moved on. So, this morning we were all laying on their huge comfy caterpillar having a bottle (yes, we still love the bottle) and Brody sucked his down (strange) and then just laid there (very strange). Oh well, he obviously just loves his momma. So Todd grabs B and I grab O-Man and we head downstairs for breakfast. Brody takes a seat and...BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRFFFFFFF! OH MY! Todd and I were amazed at the amount and force behind it! GROSS! Well, maybe I should call the doctor. On my way over to the doc, I'm wandering is this the visit nothing's wrong and I'm being a crazy mom. In the waiting room, I wonder should I snatch Brody up and run for the door so they don't find out I'm crazy.

We see Jennifer. Ear infection, very low blood sugar, and we have been awarded a nebulizer for breathing treatments. Thank goodness...I'm not crazy. Oh yea, and Brody will be fine. He got a shot for the ear and nausea and cream for the diaper rash.

We go home with a detour to Chik-fil-A. I figure being sick is kinda like the day after you have a few too many, so Brody deserved some chicken and fries. The nebulizer arrives and the breathing treatment begins....

Giving a one year old a breathing treatment can be tough...

Throw in ANOTHER one year old

At least Brody thought Owen was funny

The joys of twins. The delivery guy brought an extra hose in case of emergency. I was thinking the dog might chew it, or my children

Doesn't Mom look pretty after her great day

Happy Easter

We hope you and your family had a great Easter! We had a very quiet Easter this year. Todd worked this weekend and poor B-boy was sick and pretty grumpy about it (what happened to my healthy children?), but we had a great family day today. While the boys took a morning snooze, Todd fixed me a wonderful late breakfast. After our afternoon nap, Todd cooked steaks and veggies. Needless to say, I had a great day of being spoiled!
Very excited about our Easter baskets.

Get after it, Brody!

Owen thought this was by far the best thing we did today

Examining all our goodies from the grandparents and the Easter Bunny.

Every good brunch has Mimosas!
Do we need haircuts? I feel we do, but I'm struggling with the decision....

Photo Friday

How did you get that hair???

Brody, you too?

My little SUMO wrestlers!

Who would challenge such a macho man?

Who would dare to enter a ring with this man?

Celebrating Easter early

Who's a sweet little guy?

Owen looked so handsome

Should I?

Two of Owen's favorites...Elmo airplane and the potato masher

Check out Brody's hair! A haircut might be in the near future (note the pictures above)

Do you love Owen's new "camera face"

Ready for take-off!
