Fifteen Months Old

The boys were fifteen months old on Memorial Day. We went to see our favorite doc yesterday for a couple of shots and a well-check. The boys did great. After we got down to our diapers to be weighed, they just ran around the room eating a TON of snacks. Luckily, I brought a weeks worth of food and drinks (you never know how long they will leave you in those exam rooms.) The boys are so funny because they know when the shot is coming. It is darn near impossible to get them to lie on the exam table, they are just in fear of the shots. Owen got to go first and his sweet little brother looked on in horror from across the room just wringing his hands together. We survived and, of course, celebrated with some chicken and waffle fries. If only Chik-fil-a served margaritas for mom!

Here's our stats:

  • Weight: Owen 22lbs 14oz Brody 21lbs 5oz
  • Height: Owen 32" Brody 31 1/4"
  • Head: Owen 19" Brody 18 3/4"

All is well. Brody is actually in the 15% for weight. So excited to be out of the "under 10% category"! I had to keep reassuring Dr. Nabulsi I constantly feed Brody. The myriad of empty food container should have been proof enough!

Have a great weekend!

Memorial Day 2009

We took the boys and headed to the lake for Memorial Day. It was a great get-away for us!
Our first boat ride
the Rogers boys

Owen was very stressed about the boat ride (this was not posed. I promise! We looked over and he was just chillin')

Brody really did not enjoy his life jacket at first. It took a lot of crunchies to convince him.

Owen just hung out and enjoyed the ride. Notice the hair!

Brody tried his hand at driving

Do these guys look related?

Just perched on the fireplace

We ended our trip with a Handy Manny marathon and this is the view I had of Owen

and Brody.

Owen taking care of brother

Do you think that dishwasher door can hold both of them. We didn't find out because I don't think the home warranty covers that!

Chik-fil-A fun with Lillian

We had a great breakfast with Laura, Lillian and Jackson (we used ALL the highchairs)

They could be triplets! Could you imagine?!?!?!?

My Super Heros

We had a great weekend. Dad was off so we had lots of family time. Friday, we cruised in "The Villager" (that's a whole different post) and had a quiet night at home with dinner from Murray's (yummy!). Saturday was where the action was. We started off with a great birthday party for our buddy Wyatt. Despite the rain and change of party plans, Vickie pulled it off flawlessly! Thanks for inviting us. The boys did good, but Brody is in a very clingy phase and it kinda drives me crazy, doesn't he know there are TWO of them. Then we grabbed Dad and headed out to Miss Mabry's first birthday at the ranch. It was so fun to see so many friends all day long. Todd and I were pooped, but anxiously handed the boys off to Michele and Erica so we could go out. We had a blast at COA and Betty's. Much needed adult time! Here's some pics of my little Super Heros (thanks for the shirts Chris and Myndi!).
Who would win this battle? Batman or Superman?

Looks like Superman might take down Batman

I hate that I wasn't looking up. I have so few pics of me and the boys. At least, B-boy looks great!

Never did I dream of keeping my kids locked out of the yard. I am pool fence shopping this week.

Superman was determined to get in the yard, even if he had to go over the fence.

So sweet. They were waiting for Daddy to come rescue them...since all Mom wanted to do was make them take pictures

Dad and B were throwing the ball and trying to wear out the dog (can't wait till that trick works on the boys)

Owen is doing so good walking. He usually holds his hand up and waits for someone to take hold and escort him wherever he wishes to go

Brody is a walking machine (when not clinging. I hate to complain bc I know one day I will dream of this attention from him)

Owen has really taken to Holly. Anytime she is "being corrected" by Todd or I, Owen always chirps in. When she barking, he wags his finger and tells her to hush.

Mom was a little distracted...notice the dumped puffs, everywhere!

Twins Rock!

We had a special visitor, our buddy, Jackson. Look at what good big brothers Owen and Brody will be! Brody was in charge of rocking and Owen is the entertainer. They were so sweet.

What We're Up To

Well...what have the Rogers wild men been up to? We are officially off the bottle. They have all been packed away and are just fond memories! I was determined to lose them on the first birthday as instructed by Dr. Nabulsi, but it took a little bit longer (mostly Mom not the boys). Brody is a total walker and has his first molar coming in. Needless to say, he is not dealing with it very well. Owen is totally fine to crawl and only walks when he thinks no one is watching. Hard-headed??? Maybe! We are eating well, but I am always looking for new ideas. Especially meat ideas. So far, Chik-fil-a nuggets are number one. Katie K would be so proud, no ketchup! We love pizza, grilled cheese, pancakes, french toast, watermelon, pears, nilla wafers, yogurt, just to name a few. Today, Dad joined us a swim class and did great! We are ready to get our pool done and start the summer.
If I whine enough do you think Mom will give me that ridiculously expensive thermometer?

Oh! Holly stay right there. Don't move!

No, no! Holly don't go yet!

I can't believe you are leaving me! I was so close!

I REALLY wanted it!

We love to take anything metal and drag it across the floor. It becomes a very loud competition quickly! Daddy really likes this new game!

No worries. They can't ignite the burner, but they can turn it up or down if it's on. Not good. Does anyone know where to get knob locks?

B-boy was playing ball with Dad and Holly this weekend.

On your mark. Get set...

Hump Day!

Happy Wednesday!

Look who's walking!!!! Everywhere!

We partied our pants off for Cinco de Mayo!

Hello!

Owen's favorite new perch. Can't find Owen? Look under the kitchen table.
Notice how Holly is in every picture. She's on the move just as much as the boys now. Only, she's trying to escape. She thought crawling babies were tough, walking babies are WILD!

Weekend at Nana and Papa D's

We went to Bear and Blaire's 30th Birthday bash. The boys flew to Dallas with us and stayed with my parents while Todd and I headed out north of Denton to the farm. We pretended we were still young enough to party for an entire weekend. We discovered...we're not!
The birthday couple

We got our juice through security...barely

Owen is ready to fly the friendly skies. This was the first time just Todd and I flew with the boys. Mom had car seats in her car when she picked us up at the airport. It went pretty smoothly. the only thing...we had to separate going and coming because

2 little boys + 2 parents + the strangers sitting with us = 5 people

There's only 4 oxygen masks!

My parents "suffered" through having the boys all to themselves for the weekend. Brody looks pretty upset about it too!

Famous musicians who can support their parents?

I told him not to do it!

(disclaimer...my parents just had ALL their floors redone, so that's why Nana's bed is missing the dust ruffle. She would want you to know that)

I can't believe my parents let the boys near this table. I still have a scar from face planting into the corner of this table.

Notice the grandparents covered this table with a quilt for padding!

Papa D loves to feed the monkeys bananas each night!
