Really????

It all started a week ago...

Last Sunday Brody started feeling bad. He was running a fever and was not his active, lively self. I knew I should take him in to early office hours on Monday (our pedi has first-come-first-serve from 7;30 to 8:00 a few days a week), but was thinking...is he really sick? He woke up in the middle of the night with a fever, Tylenol, and then again the next morning...We're going in early. Grammie came and sat with the other two because I knew we weren't going to be home in time for dad to go to work. After a long line (and almost leaving) I found out Brody has Flu B. This of course, is not covered under the flu shot. It's a high fever and aching for 3 to 5 days. I get home and Henley's cough has gotten worse. I call and make her a 2 o'clock appointment. Long story, short...negative for flu B, but prescribed 3 breathing treatments a day, humidifier, sleep elevated, the norm for congestion.

Here's our sweet patient

Luckily, I already had a machine from the boys. This was April 2009. Trying to give Brody a treatment while both of them chewed on the hoses. (LOVE their hair)

Oh no! What's going on with Owen? This is the next Saturday. Owen and Brody spent the night with Grammie and Aunt JJ. When he came home he was not quite himself. Then fever. Over the next two days it gets worse. (I must mention Dad is out-for-the-count too. Needless to say, it's gettin' ugly around here.) Brody and Henley are happy and healthy. Today, we went to the doctor...CROUP! Really? So in the long run, Brody had small bout with Flu B, Owen has Croup and is prescribed breathing treatments and oral steroids, and Henley either had the flu or croup or both. She is the victim of her brothers. Luckily she is a tough cookie and has not lost her smile for a minute!

Now that we're feeling better, Mom's iPad is very entertaining! Brody loves to practice counting and his colors. He loves the farm animals, but is enjoying some new challenges now that we've WAY mastered the animals! He's been so sweet and patient while his brother and sister have been sick. For the first time, Brody took the smallest hit from our winter yuck!

We are all on the road to recovery and should be 100% in a day or two!

Monster Trucks!!!!!!

What to do on a Saturday afternoon in Midland....
Monster Truck Rally of course!!!!

Here's the family ready for the show to begin!

Owen was so excited! My favorite part of the whole thing was Owen's first glimpse of the real Monster trucks. He was in complete awe!

Brody was most fascinated with all the people around us. They were interesting! He wanted to climb on the bleachers and run around.

Oh no, are you kidding me? Is this child really falling asleep at a Monster Truck show. It was so loud in there that I was deaf for a couple of hours afterwards.

Oh YES! He did it! It's official, my children can sleep anywhere!

Bunco Babes (and baby)

I have the greatest Bunco group ever! We have been together for the last five years. Grammie and her friends were sweet enough to include me when they started the group. We've lost a few good ladies (nothing bad, they just moved) and we blessed with fab new girls. We meet the second Monday of each month at someones house and each throw in $10 for prizes.

Here's the gang! If you can't make it, we bring in a sub. Yeager got to sub this time. Hope we didn't scare her too bad!

Here's Jessica with Me & Henley. Henley loves to go to Bunco. As you can only imagine, she gets TONS of attention

Diane and Grammie

Cindy and Kelly with Henley's giraffe. I'm sure the whole table was entertaining her. It takes her a couple of days to come down from her Bunco high. The boys went to Bunco a few times. All I wanted to do was nap while they passed the boys around.

Lori and Lisa and the reason we always have a good time! This month was Mexican food with Sangria and Margaritas.
I'm doing the food next month, what should I cook????

Cereal Time!

It's time for our big girl to start cereal? What? I'm definitely not ready for this! I am guilty of not always being excited about the next milestones. I am extremely thankful for the healthy progression of my children, but I really don't like the feeding process. Henley and I have this nursing thing down. It's so easy with no mess, no dirty dishes, no trips to the grocery store...but...the time is here and we will eat!
Here's our pretty girl has no idea what's comin' her way
She did pretty good for her first attempt. I was impressed. She kept about 1/3 of what I fed her in her mouth. I forgot how slow a process this is!

She did do better than her brothers I have to say (or maybe I'm better at feeding after lots of practice on the boys.) This is Owen at five months

We finished off the cereal in a bottle. This is how the boys did cereal. After a few attempts at spoon feeding them, I found this to be much easier. I have a feeling Henley will learn to love her cereal served this way too!

What are Owen and Brody doing while Mom's feeding sister?
Playing beauty shop, of course!
I spray the boys hair down every morning to fix it, and I guess I left the stuff accessible. They run when I spray them so I literally do their hair on the run. Apparently they don't mind if brother is the one doing the spraying...

Cotton Bowl 2011

Our Aggies made it to the Cotton Bowl!
Just like the old days!
Landon and April stopped by our tailgate before the game

Todd and Daniel so excited about the game, they were dancing to the faux-Black-Eyed Peas playing outside the stadium

"suite" seats

Grays, Pipkins, and the Rogers
This was post-game. Hard to muster a smile.

The kiddos went to Dallas with us. They got to enjoy a weekend with Nana and PapaD's while Mommy and Daddy relived the college days! Saturday Todd and I took the boys to see Tangled.

Brody loves to play on the computer with Nana. His favorite is the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse games.

We ended our trip with lunch at Campisis's
Brody and Todd were in charge of the tunes

Owen was enjoying a movie while waiting for lunch. Then he saw Brody, and the jukebox battle began. Luckily it was not crowded and the few people we might have bother actually thought they were pretty funny

She's got these two wrapped around her cute little finger!

Daddy showing Henley her first snow!
Yes, her hair is rather unfortunate. We have good days and bad days, mostly HAT days! She has lost everything on the sides but it's coming back blond and beautiful. The top is full of long luscious brown curls that have blond roots.

Look at all the snow! I wish this had happened Saturday so we could have enjoyed it rather than drive home in it! This is what it was doing in Dallas at 1:30 and when we hit Midland at 6:30 it was almost 60 degrees. Love that Texas weather!

How to end a great weekend...
Dairy Queen milkshakes!

Brotherly Love

Today I was trying to get us packed and ready to leave for Dallas. The boys were enjoying an extra long nap so Henley was playing on the floor with no fear of being accidentally trampled.

Owen woke up and came down the stairs, grabbed Buzz and went to hang out with Sissa
(I think they kinda look alike?)
He was so sweet and just held her hand. I have to say none of this was prompted. In fact, I hid with my camera at first due to Owen's recent photo refusal.

Sweet big brother

Henley was left all alone when she grabbed hold of Owen's hair to help herself flip over. At least I know she resourceful!

Happy Birthday Grammie!

Grammie's birthday is on the 2nd, so we just kept partying, eating, and overindulging!
Brody was so helpful blowing out her candle

This is the best we could get of Owen with Grammie

Happy New Year 2011

Happy New Year!
Lookin forward to another great year!

New Year's Eve

New Year's Eve at the Rogers
We had the Hicks and the Grays over for a kid-friendly New Years Eve.
We wanted low-key so what's more low-key than FIVE 2-year olds, a 4 year old, and a five month old??????
Henley was quite the party girl!

Here's all the kiddos. Georgia is behind Owen's hat, Todd had to slide Brody across the floor right as I was snapping the pic, Brody is behind the green New Years hat, Anna has on the green lei, and Aubry is in black with a pink lei

Brown was not a fan of the poppers

Todd took the kids outside to throw poppers. The little ones couldn't throw them hard enough so they just threw them down and stomped them.
Notice my lighted pig. It's the only pic of her. Maybe next year.

Brody thought the poppers were pretty fun. Note...not kid friendly!

Owen loved Anna's Jessie hat. He high jacked it the minute she walked in and was hunting it first thing the next morning. Daniel's boots were a nice touch!

Hear no evil, Speak no evil!

D-Gray and his girls

Our teeter-totter was a hit!

Cutie!
