Choices

We stopped by OrangeLeaf to get frozen yogurt while we were waiting for Sister to finish school...they made their choices and were quite pleased. They are so different!

BRRRRRRRR Round Two

We had a make-up game today because of last week's floods. Our first season of soccer has been marked with every weather imaginable...extreme heat, floods, and now very cold...lovin' west Texas weather!

I found these cool skeleton gloves (I have to mention the difficulty we experienced getting all our little fingers into the gloves. This must be a difficult concept?)

Our hats may not have helped us play, but they were strategic...distract the other team while our teammates score!!!!!

What did we do before we discovered Angry Birds?????

BRRRRRR!!!!!

Last week we had rain, this week we have COLD!

I thought I was very clever to put their jerseys on over their coats...Owen clearly did not agree with my decision because he was unable to get to his pockets.  He managed to play the entire game with his hands in his pockets. What an athlete!

She braved the cold too! Of course today was our picture day too, so I had to drag all 3 of them to another field before their game even started. I was not a fan of the COLD wind.

During breaks our super long socks doubled as great leg warmers when we unfolded them pulled them ALL the way up

B found warmth in Daddy's gloves

Even though is was cold we brought home a victory!

Look who stopped by...Pa Doss

It was fun playing against our buddy, Brown's, team.  Can you tell they are enjoying their post-game treats?

Friday Funday

Friday was parent/teacher conference day at school, so we had our conferences and loaded up the kids and headed to Lubbock.

Can you tell they've been buckled into their carseats for 2 hours?

Since they let us shop, we let them PLAY! Brody was in heaven flying through the air!

Brody with his buddy Brown

CC and Henley cruising in the trolley

I can only imagine what these two are talking about

After the mall we took the kids to eat at Chuy's (one 8 year old, one 5 year old, five 4 year olds, one 3 year old, and a 2 year old). We were asked if we were a day care program on a field trip.

Henley loved hanging with the big kids

Push-ups on the patio were a fun surprise. I loved watching my kids enjoying the push-ups. I remember my grandmother getting those for me when I was little.

I'm so proud of these kids. We had a few different people come up and compliment us on our well behaved children. We were four proud mommas. Great trip!

So long Britax

We are big boys now...no more Britax carseats! I moved the boys to boosters. They can now buckle & unbuckle themselves...mommy definitely teared up making the transition!

Floating Away

Our prayers have finally been answered. It is raining!!! And raining! And raining!
We have been in such a drought that we can only water for 2 hours a week.  Today, in a 12 hour period, we received more rain than we did all last year.

AND...they canceled school!!! That's right! I woke up panicing because I slept late only to be informed we were delayed because of rain. Old Midland has horrible drainage and lots of kiddos couldn't get to school.

This is the river in the front of our house.  The flooding wasn't bad out where we are so we made the best of a day at home.  Luckily the Earls got out and got donuts and came to play, so we had a great start to the day and then we wrapped it up at Lillian's party at Chuck E. Cheese.  Not the day I had planned, but thankful for the rain

Buc-ee's

We discovered Buc-ee's this weekend while we were in Gruene. If you see one of these "gas stations" (I would call it an insanely clean mini Super Walmart) you must stop immediately! Go in...it is totally worth it!

Our friends use to live in Houston and they've told us about Buc-ee's, but to experience it was surreal.
We were quite the tourists
This place was right up Owen's alley.  He loves stuff, and this place had the stuff.  We left with food, ice, a large rubber boat, clothes, Beaver nuggets, hats, river shoes,....AMAZING!
Apparently Henley was not as excited as we were.  Yes, she has a Buck-ee the Beaver hand bag with a Buck-ee stuffed inside.  (Did I mention ALL the stuff???)

River Continued

Here's a few more pics from our River Weekend...

Helping Daddy load the car

the grandkids at Gruene Hall

Boat full of Buddies

We had horseshoe lessons...can you tell how serious Owen took it?

Couldn't resist a pic of my pretty girl

SUCKER!!!!!!

This is how clear the river was. The boys liked their river shoes and thought it was cool to walk in the river...until they fell down!

Our view Up river. The train went by hourly and each hour the boys were excited

Raise your hand if you love the river!!!!!

Wow! Sweet Owen...you love your "stuff" for any and every occassion!

Going Down to the River

We spent this weekend in Gruene, Texas on the river with Nana & Papa D.
Uncle Jody, Aunt Kathy and Jacob and Liam came down for a day too!

We got in late Thursday, so we had no idea of our surroundings...this is what we woke up to Friday morning

First order of business, chase the ducks!!

This is the view of the house from the river

What can we throw in the river....?

Daddy's big catch!

Have they ever seen a fish?

We did a little shopping

The Oldest Dance Hall in Texas

We spent the evening relaxing on the patio with glow sticks

By Saturday we were dying to get into the river

This was about 20 yards down river from the house...Brody was determined he was going down the rapids, and he DID...a couple of times

Time to fish

Jacob was the champion fisherman! He caught fish after fish after fish!

This was so funny...all four boys (you can see the toy Brody is holding on the left) were thick as thieves and thought they were so funny teasing Henley through the glass...She could have cared less!

Great weekend!!!!! We are so blessed with our wonderful family!
