This weekend Todd and I headed to Las Vegas for the Rock'n'Roll Half Marathon
That's right!!! That's MY medal! I finished! Todd got one too and he was WAY faster, but I FINISHED!
There's my super runner! He finished in an hour and a half. Then he had dinner waiting in our room with a celebratory bottle of bubbly! Great guy!
Can you tell how nervous I was? I did not properly prepare for this event. I planned on going out there and trying my best and enjoying the atmosphere...did I mention I FINISHED!?!
Waiting...waiting...The run was at night. It was a bit strange to hang out all day and do nothing. Strange but kinda wonderful! I slept in and took a nap. Big treat for this momma!
So many people. This was inside a huge room at the Mandalay Bay.
People everywhere. Did I mention that 44,000 people ran in this race? TONS of people!
Almost there! (Pictures are so blurry bc I was using my phone and running, couldn't stop moving). This was the perfect 1st half marathon. Miles 1-4 were on the strip, then miles 5-8 were in the part of Vegas no one mentions (think bail bonds men, thrift stores, pawn shops), then when you hit mile 9 you were back on the strip for the remainder of the miles. The layout of the race made it easier for me to run and pass the time.
HOLY PEOPLE!!!! This is the mess I got stuck in heading back to my room. NIGHTMARE!
