Baham Family Reunion Day 1

After flying to Dallas with all three kids, we (Nana, Papa D, and I) loaded up our rented minivan with all the kiddos and headed to Louisiana for the 1st Baham Girls Family Reunion.

Brody enjoyed the trip (all 7 hours) but was glad when we arrived in Elizabeth. Everyone did so good even though there was NO dvd in the car. I knew they would! I know, the horror!!!

Baby Sister was excited to stretch her legs with her Papa!
This is the Town Hall in Elizabeth. It was once a hospital. In fact, Nana was born in this hospital just a couple of miles away from Papa D's house, and they didn't meet until college!

I tried to get a pic of the school. Students K-12 attend this school. It was the school Papa D attended.

We stopped to visit with Wayne and Martha Ann and the boys enjoyed playing on the tractor. Brody eyed it from the porch the whole time we were sitting there, and when no one was looking, he made his move. Next thing we knew he's perch up there driving. Owen was busy trying to learn to crack a bull whip, until he saw B and he had to have a turn on the tractor.

You're in the country now! Who would ever know Owen's a city boy? Our next stop was Aunt Sharon's house. We got to pet the donkey, rode on the saddle, sat on the tractor...

trained the dog...

rode on a four-wheeler with cousin Brian and his daughter, Sadie.

Down at Brian's house, we tried on a REAL fireman's hat,

Brody got a turn too (Brian and his wife, Heidi, are volunteer fire fighters),

After we played with their pet bunny, hiked through the woods to play on the white sandy beach by the river, and jumped on the trampoline...best thing of all, A SCHOOL BUS!!!! My boys love school buses. We talk about them daily and love to watch the big boys across the street get off the bus every afternoon. This was a dream come true to get on a real bus. SO FUN!

That night at the hotel our fabulous cousins arrived!

Proud Grandparents!!!!

This was just before we rode the shuttle to the casino for dinner at the buffet. With this many little ones to feed after a day of travel, the buffet sounded like the perfect place. (Todd and I just got back from Vegas so I have been in 2 casinos in 2 different states this week, ENOUGH!) Henley loved the buffet. She ate everything I gave her to try. She is also very congested at this point...yes, she did...ALL OVER HER MOMMA!!!! Bless her heart, the minute I picked her up she lost her dinner all over mom. Time for this long day to end. We need to rest up for tomorrow's reunion!
