Fat Lip

The other day I made the mistake of actually vocalizing the following comment, "My boys are rough, but they never seem to get hurt." Are you kidding me? What was I thinking? This week they have been wild men. Clearly, I need to think before I speak!

Notice Owen's fat upper lip...
HUGE blood blister on the inside. We have those toddler swings on the back porch. They are about waist-high (to an adult) and Owen thought it was appropriate to stand in the swing. We saw him through the window and next thing you know...plop! He really handled it well and I didn't think it was a big deal because there was no blood. It was bed time, we rinsed off, did what needed to be done, and they were asleep in no time. The next morning, I noticed the puffy lip and they when he smiled, I saw the blood bubble peeking out. OUCH!
--------
Brody's turn....I got him out of the car at a birthday party. He held my hand and we walked to the back of the car and opened the hatch to remove the present. Then we walked to the other side to free Owen. I told Brody to stand next to the present and wait. I hear "momma, Momma, Momma,..." Never did panic enter his voice. Over the top of Owen's car seat I see Brody rising into the air. He had pressed the button on the inside of the handle for the back hatch on my Expendition, and he holds on tight and rides it to the top. OH MY! What is going on with these monkeys.
---------
BTW- Owen hurt his shoulder in a wrestling match Thursday night. He kept saying his hand hurt. His arm was hanging limp. I called the doc. Got him dressed. He said hurt was gone. Guess it was just a little out-of-sorts and I fixed it when I raised it above his head!
Luckily nothing has been major this week. Hope next week is even less eventful!

Eek, that lip looks nasty! At least it didn't bleed all over the place, right? ;)

There must be something in the air. Their cousins have been up to similar antics here. We both need to start our video cameras - ever notice 90% of the funny videos are of little boys?
