Mother's Day 2010

What a great Mother's Day! My boys really spoiled me. Our sweet friend Melanie even wrote an article about us for the Midland newspaper. I had a fabulous weekend with my family!
We started the Mother's Day festivities at FUMC Muffins with Mom. This is one of the boys teachers, Lisa, who we dearly love. Their other fabulous teacher was the victim of a horrible pic so we will do a redo when we see her next. Owen was so excited to take a pic
Getting ready for the program

Thanks goodness I got one of my presents early. It was a long distance lens for my camera. I usually have to crawl and hide at programs so the boys don't spot me.

OH NO! I'm been spotted by Eagle-Eye

Brody was too busy elbowing our friend Weezie. Bless her, she is often the victim of both of my sweet little boys. She finally had enough of Owen one day and grabbed his arm. When questioned by the teachers, she said, "I just squeeze him." I'm sure Owen did much worse.

Saturday we headed to Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine. As you can tell, this was our first time in the sun this summer.

Owen laied out for a while and refused to get in the water until he was good and ready.

This was a hit. We love a good steering wheel, but one that makes water shoot out?!?! Big Hit!

The big thing in the back? They had that figured for first off. Did not even get near it!

So careful

This year the arcade was a hit! We didn't even have to put coins in. The boys were entertained just sitting.

Brody really thought he was in the race

Hot dogs anyone? We did spend a few tokens here. It was an additional area in the back with buttons and lights so they took turns driving and button-pushing

oh yeah, we also delivered Ice Cream. At one point both were on and they just ran back and forth between trucks. Thank goodness the arcade was pretty empty.

Daddy is the best at getting us warm and toasty!

Does he look a little like Mother Teresa?

Story time

Mom's lap is too small for a scared little man

Daddy with protect us from those creepy puppets. Owen was so funny, he watched most of the show with his fingers over is eyes, but when we asked if he wanted to leave, he insisted "NO".

Monday we met Nana and Papa D at the Fort Worth Zoo

We saw the back of their heads most of the day. The rented stroller was great for the diaper bag only. They ran until they could run no more!

Brody and I were checking out the giraffes (aka Melman from Madagascar)

Brody was in heaven making all his animal sounds at the REAL animals

Owen was looking past me at the lions. This eye doesn't miss a thing. He was pointing out animals to me half the time. He has an eagle-eye. I was amazed at how well he could pick out the animals.

Dad took Owen into the bird cage. Mom DID NOT go in there. I was happy to take pics from the safety of outside of the cage. You get a stick with birdseed on it when you go in and you can feed the birds. Owen thought it was fun to watch Dad do it, but he was not interested in feeding them himself. I understand son.

The penguins were cool. Literally, it was nice and cool in there for this preggo belly. The smell was worth the cool. Owen was impressed with the "happy feet" birds.

There was a neat ol' west town with neat stuff for the kiddos. Look at 'em go!

The boys crashed out just as we were leaving. This was a great way to wear them out for our drive home. Looks like Dad had fun too!

Owen caught a ride with Papa D. Two tired little guys! Thanks for meeting us Nana & Papa D! Hope everyone had a happy Mother's Day!
