Fun at the Fair

This weekend was the Midland County Fair. This is only the second year for the fair, and there is room for improvement, but it is a start! We had a great time, it's not too hard to impress 3 year olds.

Heading in to see the animals

Pickin up chicks at the fair! Ha!

We even squeezed in a party today! Sister borrowed a friends party bow.

Owen has decided the sun hurts his eyes. We HAD to have the shades!

On top of the ferris wheel

Driving the boat

This little girl is a trooper! She rode in this stroller for 2 hours just watching her brothers run wild and ride the rides. Did I mention it was 102 @ 5:30 when we headed out there?!?!?

The boys liked this ride the least...must of been the Chevy truck that soured it!

This was my favorite thing to watch them ride. The motorcycles would lift up the front wheel and "jump" over bumps, and I think the boys really thought they were controlling the bikes. They were so proud!

Mommy's favorite ride!

I wish you could see the boys faces, they are smiling ear to ear. At first Todd & I took turns riding with one of the boys on our laps, then Brody decided he could go alone. I think I rode it 5 or 6 times. Luckily there were a lot of stairs to the top so I got a little cardio in.

This sums up our day!
10:00am head to the fair (rides weren't running so we headed home after checking out the animals)
11:30 throw the kiddos in the pool
2:00 eat (again) rest and get dressed
3:00 birthday party
5:30 let's go back to the fair & ride the rides!
8:30 we must bathe these children!
BED- I have a strict 8:00 bedtime, we WAY missed it!

First Day of Pre-K3

Today was the day we have been talking about for months!

The first day of "Big Boy School" at Hillander!

Owen slept in but hit the floor running when he found out the day had finally come!
Brody, "Mr. Calm and Cool", couldn't even contain his smile when we told him it was time to get dressed for Big Boy School.

Mom "Get together for a picture"

Boys "close enough"

Well, they were at least touching

Owen asked me to take his picture on the fireplace

Brody ran into his class and took his seat next to Georgia. He was ready to play with that stuff mom never lets him play with (playdough).

Guess who tagged along for the first day festivities? Guess who thought she was a big girl and should get to go to school too?

Mrs. Hullender made Owen happy even though it was tough to leave "bruver" in a different class. This is the first time the boys have been seperated and I know they will do great!

**This morning when I said he and Brody were big boys, he corrected me and said "No. We're Bruvers." Love it!

Brody and the tears were soon forgotten and the fun was under way!

Weekend Update

We enjoyed a great weekend at home...

Owen with handsfree mic and animal slippers thought he looked great

Mommy had a GROSS accident Friday afternoon. Brace yourself...I lifted off my entire toe nail!!! So much pain!

Baby Sister decided she was going to swim by herself. She no longer likes being trapped in her floatie

Such a big girl!

Went to a Cars birthday party

Daddy got in on the fun

Enjoyed ice cream (down to the last drop)

Rode our 4 wheeler

Brody locked Todd & I out in a split second. It took 5 minutes of coaching to unlock it.

Brody watered the tee-tee rock

Last night we had dinner at Grammie's house

Aunt JJ was in town. Henley loves having SO much attention from her aunt.

Introducing...

Mama Smurf & Dada Smurf

When my parents were in town for Henley's birthday Smurfs came to our house. Sunday morning we were all sitting around and I gave Owen the sale paper for Toys R Us (he loves to check out the newest toys he needs). When he came upon the New Smurf items he declared to Nana, "I'd poop for a Smurf". Seeing as how all the other poop-treasures on the mantle hadn't peeked his interest in pooping in the potty, Nana raced out to find Smurf-poop-prizes. She also got each of the boys a stuffed Smurf (bc who can resist spoiling my cuties). One was Papa Smurf with the big white beard and red pants and the other was just a regular Smurf. He asked "Who dat?". Nana told him it was Papa Smurf, so therefore (my very smart child) decided the other Smurf must be Nana Smurf. Sounds good. We go about our business. McDonald's has Smurf toys right now. Between McD's prizes and poop-prizes, Owen has found the perfect Momma & Dada Smurfs. Mama was decided right away, but a few Smurfs had to audition for Dada's spot. Today he found the perfect Dada Smurf!

I had a little extra help with dinner tonight...

A Little More Henley

I thought of a few more Henley facts to recap...

We went to the baseball game tonight with friends and the kiddos were all up late...Henley is "spoiled" in her night routine. At 6 months we put the boys in their beds and they cried it out. Henley, not so much...she nursed until 9 months so she always fell asleep nursing. Well, since then I've bottle fed her to sleep every night. She's a year old, time to cry it out. She fell asleep during her bottle tonight and it was sooo late so I thought I could get her to bed with no tears. Nope. The minute her bottom hits the mattress she's screaming. It's late, I'm sorry, work it out little girl. I get in bed and check the video monitor. Yes, she is sitting up in bed crying, but her eyes are closed and she's asleep! Every time she sways and starts to fall over, she wakes herself up. Now I have a little peace about letting her cry it out. She's torturing herself. ( yes, she did finally FLOP over and pass out).

Henley loves to sit in her chair. Gives great (open mouth) kisses. Her fourth (top left) and possible fifth (the one to the left of the other new one) tooth are pushing through. She can high-five. One of her favorite activities is playing with her magnets on the magnet board. LOVES her babies. She pats them and takes one with her everywhere. Her babies are quite dirty seeing how she crawls everywhere with them in her hands. Nilla Wafers are her new favorite food.

Time to Party!

My sweet friend, Penelope made Henley this chalkboard sign for her room. It welcomed out guest to the party
The pinwheels lined the path to the door (and don't require water)

No party is complete without balloons

Yep! That's the birthday girl! She greeted her guests and then decided Grammie was pretty comfy, and passed out. She timed it well, as we were ready to sit down and eat dinner. She just needed to rest before the show. This girl can power-nap!

Cake time!

The birthday girl is ready

Is this for me?

too much! She was totally fine just picking at the icing. We pushed it and had her really dig in...nope, not having it! She is my child after all, why do you need to go past the icing anyway?

Time for the pinata!

This was a great idea. Instead of hitting it with a stick and risking life and windows, each person pulls a string. The magic string releases the bottom and out comes the goodies!

Henley was up first. She thought we were crazy and was not at all interested.
