The Nursery

Little Miss's room is nearing completion just as she is!
------
Our sweet baby girl, Henley Faye Rogers, has a beautiful room awaiting her arrival!
The crib

opposite the crib

this may not look exciting, but this was the major construction part of this project. Notice the absolutely beautiful pocket door to the right of the chest? The closet door had been sealed off by the previous owner and I had the idea to just stick a pocket door in there. Sounds easy enough? No! After ripping out the wall and moving the gas line, it was easy.

This has to be one of my favorite things about Henley's room. My girlfriend and I were out walking one morning and a lady was having a garage sale. This was her husband's grandmother's chair that had been in her garage for 17 years! It was unfinished wood and had a broken bracket for a mirror across the top. Well...it got a huge face lift! I need to add the mirror to the indention in the back of the chair. The seat lifts up so this can be her dress-up trunk.

This is the other side of the room. I need to post the before pics. This room was cherry red. By room, I mean everything. The walls and all the built-ins. I love the way the built-ins turned out. They look like a new piece of furniture.

Here's my little table. My mom made the skirt. So cute! I'm getting into this girlie stuff!

Finally...this is the one part of her room, she will never appreciate. We go into her room each night after we put the boys to bed and see what's left to be done, and when we walk out, we are blown away by her view. This is by far the prettiest part of her room. (thanks for sneaking in the pic Owen)
....
I'm missing a few prints I just ordered for her walls and an amazing lime green shag rug, but I had to post all of our hard work. Thanks to everyone who has painted, carried, ordered, paid, sewed, and helped to give Henley such a beautiful room. Now all we need is HENLEY!

Diaper Dash

I'm a little late posting this, but...
SURPRISE!
My girlfriends put together a beautiful diaper dash for me and our new addition. (In case you're not familiar with this type of shower, the guest just drop a gift on the expectant mommy's from porch and dash off.) SO much fun to have SO much pink. I'm getting very excited!
Our front porch was covered!

Close up of the table

The tag on the cotton candy goodies for my guests. "Thank you for adding some pink "fluff" to add to Janai's blue stuff!"

Look how pretty her baby book looks

Brody wasn't so sure about all this pink fluff

Not a great pic, but the sun was rough

This is an outfit to match Owen and Brody's Big Brother shirts

Owen brought Buzz and Woody to protect him

What timing! Here's her furniture!

While the new furniture was being taken upstairs, we open up all the loot!
Thanks so much to my hostesses and fabulous friends!

Happy 34th Birthday, Aunt JJ

Aunt JJ celebrated her 34th birthday last week. We had dinner at Todd's dad's house, opened presents and ate cake. So fun!
The birthday girl with her princess cake and doll in hand

Owen and Nan. (This is Todd's Nana, but she has decided her great-grand children should call her Nan.) Owen was in rare form this evening. He was passing out kisses right and left and always ready for the camera.

I actually got the boys to look at me, but Pa Doss didn't follow instructions

It's a toss up between Aunt JJ and the boys as to who likes to open presents best. Aunt JJ was nice enough to let the boys open some (or she just didn't notice)

Diggin through her loot. Hey guys, It's not about you tonight!

The birthday girl was soooo happy!

Owen became quite fond of the very pretty Barbie.

Cousin Megan was the hero that finally got B-man to eat. He was rather fond of her

Father's Day 2010

For Father's Day, Todd requested a great relaxing day at home with the family. Well, you ask and you shall receive! Todd got up and ran and I fixed him a yummy breakfast and we hit the pool. Everyone took a LONG nap and we went back to the pool and ended the evening with a yummy dinner of filets and baked potatoes and corn on the cob. Happy Father's Day to a great Dad of twin little boys and so-to-be Dad of a little girl!
My BOYS!

Todd was reading the book Brody gave him to a very excited Brody.

Waiting to see what else Daddy got!

Hmmmm....what's this yellow stuff?

That's my boy! Corn on the cob is Momma's absolute favorite! Maybe there is a little bit of me in my little Todd-clone!

Summer Fun in Austin

We have headed down to Lakeway for a few weekend getaways. We figure we will be at home quite a bit when our new addition arrives, so we have taken advantage of a few long weekends.
Sweet Owen

Brody doin some floating

Chris and Myndi made it down one weekend too. Owen thinks Chris is pretty funny!

I love the look on Todd's face. This is a familiar look at our house lately. The boys are into everything and absolutely fearless!

Look Mom, no hands! I love that they are so comfortable in the water, but a little fear would be nice. They just jump because someone will catch them. Right? Well, if not, when you pull them up they just laugh. It's not funny to Momma!

Love these little monkeys! They were watching a movie and Owen got scared, grabbed his milk, and ran for brother! So sweet!

Memorial Day 2010 poolside

We hung out at our pool all weekend and saved the neighborhood pool for Memorial Day (I'll get pics from Yeager). It is so nice to swim-eat-nap-swim-eat-bed

Owen trying to take apart the watering can

What next?

Look how well I'm swimming with my float on!!!

Memorial Day at the Earls

The Earls had us over to celebrate Memorial Day. The weather was perfect and we all hung out outside with a bouncer, swings, bubbles, and turtles! Crazy! Owen and Brody were very interested in the pompom. Maybe they'll like sister's girlie things afterall

Brody took this task upon himself....hmmmm

his masterpiece?

31 Weeks!

I am 31 weeks pregnant with this baby girl today!
I was curious what I looked like at this point with the boys? See below
31 weeks with Owen & Brody

31 weeks with Little Miss
-------
I'm feeling great. The boys are out of school (this is our first week together) and we are trying so hard to be busy all day. Therefore, Mom is absolutely pooped at night. I have gone back to napping. The nursery is pretty much done, and we are ready for baby. The biggest difference between my pregnancies is the movement of the baby!!! WHOA! The boys moved and my belly danced, but nothing like this. Sister can dance. I guess it's just ALL the room she has. Owen and Brody were head down the majority of my pregnancy so I had four little feet in my ribs and occasionally some elbows poking out the side. They would push their little rears out, but this little Lady can move. She had strong opinions about others pressing against her space. Todd had his back to me the other morning while we were wishing morning not to come and he thought I was laughing at him because my belly was jiggling. Nope! That's your daughter letting you now you need to move it on over or go get Mom some breakfast. Today Brody was napping next to me in the chair and he flipped over onto my belly. Baby Girl was not a fan!!!! She pushed and pushed, but of course, Brody didn't budge. The boys will point at my belly and say baby, but they really have no idea. The thing that freaks them out most is my belly button. It is gone! Totally flattened out this week. Brody lifted up my shirt and was very disappointed not to find my belly button. All is well. I go a week from today for my next appointment. I will get pics of the nursery posted soon!
