New Years 2013-2014

For New Years we headed to Canyon Lake with our crew (minus kiddos)...

Instant injury...do not give hugs while leaning over the back of the couch...at least not to Brent!

Waiting for lunch at Mozie's

A kiss makes everything better

We had our boots, so we had to stop by Gruene Hall

Back at Nana & Papa D's

Ross Perot Museum

While in Dallas we finally went to check out the Ross Perot Museum. The kids loved it! The dinosaurs were a big hit, as was the Children's Museum & Sports challenge, but I think the frog playground won!

Christmas Lights in a Carriage

We loaded up the kiddos, filled our cups with Wassle, and hopped on a horse drawn carriage. How else would you go look at Christmas lights?!

The Nutcracker

I've been waiting for the day to get dressed up and take my little ballarina to see The Nutcracker...

Our great group of gals

Ready for the show to begin

Getting the wiggles out during intermission

Wiped out! We had a great time. The second act did not go as smoothly as the first...should have known when she put her coat on to leave at the end of Act I...

Chatter

The kids are too funny. I keep meaning to post these...

Owen...when I picked him up from his first day of school we had the following conversation as we were pulling out of the parking lot...
O " mom, I like to talk"
Me "yes, I'm aware. (Eye roll)"
O "well, we are not supposed to talk in kindergarten"
Me "yes"
O "I'll do better tomorrow"
I assume he got in trouble for talking and this was his confession...

I walked up to the door to get Henley from her first day bc new moms don't understand the parking lot diagram for carpool. She is dismissed, and runs to me...I asked her " How was your first day?!?!" She replies "you got your nails painted!"....well, yes I did...guess she had a good day

Brody...the only thing this sweet thing is interested in is sea life. He has requested a t-shirt with an octopus wearing glasses, a pet coconut crab ( yes, this is a real thing), and just wait until you see his Halloween costume!

One more Owen story...I picked him up and his teacher, while helping them into the car, gave me the heads up that Owen had been in time out that day... She was explaining to me that during recess Owen was throwing a stick and that it was acceptable because of so many kids Ina small area...Owen stopped her with "excuse me, Mrs. Goodwin, It was a rock!" She never broke stride and said, "yes, you are correct Owen, I'm sorry, it was a rock"...Gotta love my little honest man!

Excited her clipboard finally came in! Officially a preschooler now!

The boys got haircuts last week. I let Brody keep some length, but at least it's not in his eyes anymore

Henley got into the markers! I'm not used to the trouble she finds. Her brothers were WAY more timid and less curious, and I guess we never had markers

Time for another Aggie victory! I did pick the dress. Henley gets credit for the boots & glasses.

Henley says the darnedest things!

Sweet little Henley...you are a pure joy, a whiney mess, a princess, a helper, a busybody, a fashionista, and quite the comedian! Tonight, Henley and I were reading Cinderella in bed. She was showing how smart she is by naming the mean stepsisters. I was actually impressed, Anastasia and Drucella are not easy names. I pointed to the Fairy Godmother (an important character, in my opinion) and asked "is that her Fairy God Mother?" Without skipping a beat...Henley said, "No. That's her grandma!" I'm not sure she's following the story as well as I thought she was...

Oh well...Henley is DEFINITELY our princess! We love her good, bad, happy, sad!

A few other good "Henley-isms"
Swimsoup...swimsuit
Scumscream...sunscreen
Woozie...koozie (she needs one for every drink)

Labor Day 2013

For Labor Day we headed up to GreenTree. It was a great day!

Aggie Football Kickoff

First week of school under our belt, an Aggie game and weekend getaway for mom & dad...what could go wrong?

I picked boys up from school Wednesday. Brody's teacher said he had a rough time during Spanish, I told him he had to participate, he refused ice cream, what's going on? Oh! 103 FEVER! Henley was slightly warm so I made her go to doc too. Well Brody has Strep (AGAIN) and Henley looks like a cold.

Nope! Not a cold. The next day she had 103 and apparently STREP! Thankfully they just sent in a prescription to match her brothers. I took B to the ENT, up next for us....getting the tonsils out!

No fear! Nana and Papa D to the rescue! They came in on Thursday and freed this tired momma so Todd and I could head to College Station! THANK YOU!

Pre-game must for me! I am in Heaven!

My little Aggies were all decked out and ready for the game back in Midland!

This was prior to the game, before the insane sweat-fest! We have been to some hot games, but this one was HOT! Walking up that ramp you could feel the heat. Stepping out of the tunnel was like stepping onto the sun!

BUT, it was still a full house to watch the Aggie victory over Rice.

Post game must...wings & fried pickles at Wings'n More! Yum!

Sunday we headed home to these cuties with their nutty morning hair!
