Squeezing It All In!

Summer is coming to a close. This past week we managed to squeeze in an insane amount of fun!

MONDAY.....we all loaded up and went to the fabulous city pool in Odessa. We've been meaning to go over there all summer to enjoy their big water slides, lazy river and just great pool. Get to Odessa...pool is CLOSED! Lovely! Back to our house to swim and play, not to bad a day! Then Pa Doss popped over for his birthday dinner.

TUESDAY...Greentree pool with lots of our pals

Brody, you never cease to amaze me with your ability to sleep ANYWHERE!

They were a little bit exhausted, to say the least. Hope they rally for our next adventure!?!

The Drive-In is next on our week-o-fun agenda! I don't know how we've never done this?

A little playground fun before our movie, Planes.

Our late gorgeous sunsets mean the movies don't start until 9:00. This means a very late night for my kiddos.

WEDNESDAY...bowling due to the rain. How cute are these little bowlers?

FRIDAY...time to try out MCC with our pack of buddies (Thursday was maintenance day for mommies so kids didn't get an adventure, so sad). Owen and Anna enjoyed the ship and sprinklers

Ice cream makes everyone happy!

We rushed home and got all cleaned up to head to the Back to School Bash

Owen was so proud of his face painting. I was proud of his patience, we waited forever in line for his masterpiece

We woke up early SATURDAY to head out on our next adventure...stay tuned!

BIg Spring with our Partners in Crime

Courtney and I have been trying to get the kids to the pool in Big Spring all summer...

We finally made it there today. Owen was thrilled! He loves this place!

Brody was all about the slides.  I love that they can do them on their own.

Brody and Cole sharing a ride down the slide

These three boys are a mess!

Courtney was in charge of taking the ladies on laps around the lazy river while I monitor the bottom of the slide and the boys

Love these cuties!
We love our adventures with the Lunsfords. Our kids are troopers because Courtney and I usually take at least one if not ten wrong turns, but we always have a great time getting there!

Lake Time with Pa Doss

We finally made it down to Lake Travis to spend some time with Pa Doss

So sad...she wanted to tube by herself...maybe next year sister?!

of course...

It's hard for Brody to sit and watch Owen have a turn on the tube.  He's chomping at the bit to get out there!

relaxing with Pa Doss

We have turned Henley into a true Lake Princess! She's the one it hard to get back into the boat!

She's growing up

It's been a long time coming...but I keep finding excuses...but Henley turned three and it's time for the crib to go....

Here it is. I already took the canopy off before I remembered to take a picture. She sleeps so well in her crib, so I've not been in a hurry to get Miss Henley a big girl bed. The last couple of weeks she's been crying out at night so it was the shove I needed to transition her.

Today, I went for it! I brought a load of laundry up and took one last look at her baby bed and started dismantling it. Another reason I've been slow to transition is I REALLY want to use my Great Grandmother's bed in Henley's room. I need to get it repaired and I just haven't.

I decided to just get a frame until I can decide what to do. As you can tell...she loved it! As soon as it had sheets on it, she was ready for bed!

Well, bedtime has come...not going as smoothly as I thought. Henley sleeps in normal beds anytime we travel but someone is usually in bed with her or at least in the room. She and I read our stories and haves kisses, then meltdown. She thought she got a big girl bed so I could sleep WITH her! I'm trying to be patient as I lay next to her blogging....I'll keep you posted!

Happy 3rd Birthday, Princess Henley!

Today was Henley REAL birthday, even though she has be celebrating for quite some time...

After a busy morning of trying out all our new birthday treasures, the Lunsfords had us and a few friends over for swim and dinner, followed by yet another birthday cake. This time we opted for LaLaLoopsey ice cream cake. This girl knows how to make a birthday last!

She was a little more willing to be the center of attention this time.

Now, she's really getting into it!

I can't imagine if there is anything she can even think of to wish for.  Her friends were so sweet and brought her lots of treasures!

Very satisfied with herself!

Henley's Birthday Eve

These pics are from my phone...

Harlen, the balloon man, came to Henley's party and did not disappoint!

Crazy big hat? Check. Ariel? Check. Hello Kitty? Check. Sword with belt holster? Check! I need to learn how to make these...great entertainment!

We couldn't wait! She had to open her dress up clothes even though she was in desperate need of a nap!

I guess she just needed a comfy gown and tiara to fall asleep. She didn't make it ten seconds into her movie.

Henley is definitely our princess and I hope she felt like one today! She was so fun to watch today!

Henley's Birthday Eve Eve

My little girl will be three years old in two days! She is so excited about her birthday!

This morning, I over heard her telling Todd she was cold while eating her breakfast...what better than the super furry blanket Nana gave her for her birthday? It looks like she's wearing a muppet!

Let the presents begin! The Stevens deliver a gift that was a TREASURE! It was a chest full of Princess dress up. She was on a two minute rotation between gowns. I was shocked how quickly she could dress herself! Where is this speed when I'm trying to leave the house in a hurry!?

Here's Ariel...for a few moments

Ohhhhh! The McDaniels package arrived! Henley was very pleased with her cousins selections!

Of course this was the favorite clothing item from Nana & Papa D's package!

Such a treat! All my kids love these packs of characters the Disney Store sells. She had little scenes all set up. When she open the new sets, she had to go get the Cinderella set she already had. Guess she didn't want to leave anyone out?

It was a struggle getting this gal in bed. She was very excited about her party in the morning!

Back to School

We have returned from our lake adventures and Texas travels...what to do??.....

Go to summer CDO!!!!! So excited to head to church and see our friends!

Celebrate a great day with some frozen yogurt. Henley has to have "Pink" with gummie bears, Owen his usually "banilla" with the surprise addition if chocolate chips (his first time with toppings), and Brody has "blue" (color seems more important than flavor) with his fav gummie bears.

Ended our day with a fun new pirate ship for the pool! Summer days are great but I am one worn-out event planner! By the time we force them into bed, I am way too pooped for my chores!!!! Playing is way more fun than chores!
