HSB Continued

After all the fun we had with Great Ma & Great Pa, our sweet friends the Lunsfords asked us to stay a few more day with them...no way we would turn down that offer! We had a great time and the kids loved having their buddies to hang with on the lake.  It was beautiful weather and we enjoyed every minute of it!

Fourth of July - Horseshoe Bay

Once again, we loaded up the car and hit the highway...we headed to Horseshoe Bay to celebrate the Fourth with Great Ma & Great Pa
watching the land parade...I promise they were having fun
Shoving candy in his mouth
Our wild bunch
Great Ma has saved Grammie and Uncle Steve's chairs from with they were little...of course, Henley thought it was her special chair.
Owen loves a party and a theme as much as Great Ma!
Henley wasn't so sure the boat parade was worth sitting out in the heat...
Let me reference the "Jane Fonda look" going on here.  She never wears headbands so I put her hair in pigtails and set the coordinating headband that came with the outfit (thanks Nana) aside.  Well, there was NO way Henley was not going to wear every hair accessory she could!
Todd LOVED having control of the bull horn to heckle the boat parade participants.
The Blackmon ladies
Brody hanging out on the deck
What holiday is it?????
My little firecracker
So cute! They have grown up so much!
Bring on the fireworks!
Trading kisses for animal crackers
Grammie helping everyone feed the HUGE catfish
Guess who did not like the fireworks one bit?!?
All the kiddos lined up their chairs and enjoyed a great fireworks show

Floatie-Free

Owen is now floatie-free.  Here's how it went down...CC came over to swim this afternoon while Nicole ran a few errands.  All the kids wanted to swim so all four strapped on their floaties and the pool party started. A few weeks ago, our friend Harper came to swim. Owen has quite a fondness for Harper so he had to venture out of the "little pool" (hot tub) to keep up with her.  Until now he liked to stay there while Brody was swimming in the "big pool". Well, CC convinced me she didn't need her floatie and she was showing me what a good swimmer she was.  Owen got out of the pool to have a snack and he took off his floaties.  He sat on the side of the pool watching CC and just decided to go for it...I was a nervous wreck.  Luckily, Nicole has been through this step with 2 girls so she convinced me to sit back and let him have his space.  He amazed me! He was fearless and swam from one side of the pool to the other.  He did so good! I am so proud of him but not sure I'm ready for this.

The Fourth in Ft. Davis

We headed to Ft. Davis this weekend to celebrate the Fourth of July
This the second year the Davenports invited us to ride with them in the parade. It was so fun this year because the boys remembered last year and were very excited. Owen was very proud of his decorating.
While we decorated the buggy, Brody used his wooden pistol to shoot the enormous ants.
Here's the group all ready to go
The boys and I rode in the seat on the top so we could throw out tons of candy
Here's our view from our perch.  Henley rode in the front seat with Kendall. While we were prepping for the parade, Todd and Bob ran in the 10K.  They won first and second place!!!!
Me and my girl ready to hit up the town square
Guess what booth O & B found immediately
my little firecracker
fresh squeezed lemonade
and the BEST fries in the whole world!
Loving this food!
Brody couldn't shove the fries in fast enough
The boys played spiderman on the hammock
Henley looked liked a bird watcher
ready for a buggy ride

Owen loved flying his Spiderman kite. And he was really good at it

Brody rode up the mountain in a buggy with Dad. He loved it! Owen went on a long drive with Todd and I the day before

This guy is crazy!

Brody got in on the kite flying action

Our family hike

Battle wounds...low branches and riding on Dad's shoulders doesn't mix well

Wiped out!
